Our meeting last Thursday was very productive.  We had several new faces in the crowd.  During the committee reports we were informed of a new class that will be available called Biblical Citizenship.  Brian Horanoff (Membership Chair) will be hosting a video presentation on Thursday 7/13/23 at 6pm at his home 11497 S. Woodruff in Blanchard.  This is a chance for you to learn about the class and then present it to your church, bible study group, friends etc. and start your own class.  For example, I’m considering doing one in my own home.  Please RSVP to Brian if you want to attend – he MUST know how many to expect for this presentation.  [email protected] or 989-621-3856.

There will be more information coming on our website about the Campaign Connection.  Ways to learn how to become a candidate or to connect with a candidate.

We had reports from Jerry Neyer and Mitch from Roger Hauck’s office.  We also heard from 2 county commissioners, Frank Engler and Chris Embrey.  We were so happy to welcome someone from the City Council – Brian Assmann was in attendance.  There is a new downtown development in the works and at the next City Council meeting they will be talking about the Wastewater Treatment plant.

Bree Moeggenberg gave a report on the state committee’s decision on the Binding Resolution that will allow us to maintain the 55 delegates at our National Convention next year.  Also the next District 2 meeting will be hosting a picnic before the meeting on Sunday July 9th.

In Old Business we had a reminder about the Prayer/Fast for Independence Week – more information is on our website.  We must all remember that in times past (during the Revolutionary War and the Civil War) our nation came together to pray and fast for the safety and security of our great country.  We are in troubled times once again as a nation.  Let’s all come together in praying for our country.

We will be walking in the Vestaburg Parade on Saturday 7/15/23.  Parade line up at 10 am and the parade starts at 11am.  Come out and walk with us and bring your family for a fun day.  For more info contact Kelly Fountain [email protected] or 989–854-0770

In New Business we watched a video presentation by a group that is starting a Christian school in the Mt. Pleasant area.  They are still actively looking for a building or land site to build on.  There is more information on our website.

We also announced that there is a vacancy on our Executive Committee.  Per our by laws we must announce the vacancy and then at the next meeting we will take nominations and then vote.  Those eligible to fill the vacancy must be a precinct delegate and a registered voter in Isabella County.  A majority of the Delegate-Elected Members present in voting shall be necessary to elect the person.

And finally we heard about a new fundraiser in the works.  Linda Richardson presented the idea of doing a “You’ve Been Flagged” fundraiser.  The idea is that a committee will put flags all over the yard/property of someone with the direction that they must pay a “fee” which is actually a donation to ICRC to have them removed or moved to another person’s yard/property.  More information will be posted to our website.

Our website is constantly changing with new info as we get it.  The Good Neighbor program that MIGOP is starting will be featured soon on our website.  This is the kind of ACTION we need to make a difference in our state.

God Bless all of you and God Bless the USA!
